Wonderful analysis. I hope it's not too much a

stretch to look at the effort to create draconian IP laws as analogous to making software development more Darwinian (ie software dies with it's creators).



On the other hand, software itself doesn't appear to have the same procreation imperative that we meat creatures do, Unless we look at all software as memes. In which case free software becomes the genetically strongest strain ever. It convinces its carriers to mutate and clone it over and over and makes them happy and prosperous! Clever, clever code!

I wouldn't call it "follower", more "wishful thinker". ;) Any theory that leads to free software wanting to make you happy and prosperous for its own good, is fine by me.
