They all claim that evolution doesn't work
They all claim the world is less than 10000 years old
So you have now two choices:
They believe they are saying the truth, which means they are morons.
They believe they are lying, and only saying obviously false things because that will help them win, which means they are sleazy.

Wait, EVERY US presidential candidate believes these two things? A little hyperbole there? Maybe? :-)
Actually, Huntsman is the only one who said he believed in evolution, when asked. And look how well that worked for him.
Huntsman is, well... let's just say I have *no idea* how he actually managed to become a governor of Utah. Nice person and all, just not a political powerhouse strong enough to be a real challenger, with or without statements about evolution.

No apoyar la evolución no te hace idiota, si es que creciste en el ambiente "adecuado". Si bien parece mentira que en el 2012 todavia cuestionemos conocimientos científicos tan básicos, no es porque la gente sea idiota, sino que depende del contexto cultural donde se forman.
A menos que tu definición de idiota sea mas amplia que la mia. Pero apuesto que muchos de los que creacionistas yankies aspirantes a la presidencia tienen un IQ mayor al promedio (que quizas para vos sean idiotas). Conozco gente que me consta que es muy inteligente por cualquier aspecto que lo midas, pero que te defienden a muerte la homeopatia. ¿Idiotas? No, sino que tienen información falsa y muchos de estos son informaticos (programadores) que no tienen idea de como funciona la ciencia. Y yo los entiendo, porque la mentalidad cientifica es algo muy reciente en la historia de la humanidad y muchas veces para darle lugar hay que rechazar ideas provenientes del "sentido común", no es tan fácil.
Si creciste enuna cueva, y no estuviste expuesto a nada hasta anteayer, ok. Si no, es que o no te da, o no querés.
Ser un "young earth creationist" como son la mayoría de estos señores no es un problema de falta de información, es un problema de negar la realidad y vivir en base a pensamiento mágico. Claros signos de que, al menos en lo que respecta a estos temas, son idiotas. O garcas, claro.
